Classic Car Show
In 1969 five British motoring clubs came together in King's Park, Perth to put on a combined display with 60 cars attending. The event was so successful that it was repeated again the following year, with more clubs attending. The event continued to grow until by the mid-1970s several hundred cars were attending. The coordination of a multi-club car show led to the formation of a coordinating body, the Combined Car Clubs which subsequently became the Council of Motoring Clubs of WA.
The Classic Car Show is the major showcase event on Perth's classic and historic motoring calendar. The Show annually displays around 1,000 vehicles of all types, representing the diversity and vibrancy of Perth's motoring community.
Western Australians share an abiding and fond regard for our motoring heritage. This is reflected in the number and variety of classic and historic vehicles presented at each year's Classic Car Show for people to view and admire. Many of the vehicles displayed, the cars, motorcycles, buses and heavy commercial vehicles, have been lovingly and meticulously restored by their proud owners, often over many years.
