Under exceptional circumstances, and subject to assessment by the CMC Technical subcommittee, vehicles manufactured less than 25 years ago, may be eligible to apply for a 404 concession. To be eligible for assessment as a ‘Unique’ or ‘Historic’ vehicle, the vehicle must meet the following specifications:
The approval of a vehicle as ‘unique’ or ‘historic’ is intended to cater for bona fide enthusiasts with newer vehicles fitting the above descriptions, who wish to use such vehicles strictly in accordance with the conditions of use currently in place for all other vehicles licensed with a Code 404 concession.
Approvals for the assessment of a ‘Unique’ or ‘Historic’ vehicle less than 25 years of age are NOT automatic.
An application must be submitted to the CMC Technical subcommittee using the attached Application for Assessment of a Unique/Historic Vehicle form (CMC2). This application should first be endorsed by the member’s club to assist the CMC Technical subcommittee in making their decision.
The application must contain as much detail as possible in support of the vehicle's classification as ‘Unique’ or ‘Historic’. This information would normally include written evidence regarding the history of the vehicle.
All applications MUST be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
